When I was very young, I really wanted to become a teacher. If you were to walk into my room, you'd most likely find my five-year-old self lecturing about the essence of the alphabet to my stuffed animals. I chose Duke because of the combination of athletic excellence and an outstanding academic facility. No other school in the country can compare. Duke has changed and challenged me in all aspects of my life. I didn't know it was possible to learn and grow so much. As of now I'm planning on majoring in psychology. I have found a unique interest in the abnormal and personality department.

I still share the same want of helping and teaching others as I did in my "classroom". One of the many things that I love about our team is that we are very into giving back to the community and one way that we do this is by volunteering. We spend time at the soup kitchen and Ronald McDonald house. My personal favorite (and a Duke Swim Team specialty) is swimming with the Blue Devils. On those Saturdays we provide free swim lessons to kids who may not have the opportunity to learn otherwise, just by spending those extra couple of hours in the water, we are changing lives.
