Fred Roland transitioned into his current role as the Iron Dukes Annual Fund Assistant from Duke Athletics ticket office representative in June 2012.  Fred graduated from Duke in December, 2008 with a degree in psychology and minored in sociology and theater studies.  He was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter for Duke Football.  While a member of the Blue Devil football team, Fred played in 46 career games with 35 career starts, started the final 23 games of his career, and recorded over 800 snaps in 2006 and 2008.  Roland was also a co-recipient of Duke's Most Improved Offensive Player honor for the 2006 season.

Prior to working at Duke, Roland served as a Ticket Supervisor and Group Sales Specialist for the Durham Performing Arts Center from August 2009 until August 2011.  He also worked as the Graduate Assistant for Academic Affairs in Athletics at North Carolina Central University from August 2011 until May 2012.
